Bedroom Love

I am not always a huge huge fan of Pottery Barn, however I am really digging their new indigo color scheme.  I am also loving their new bedding set.

I went by a local Pottery Barn Store, and thought it looked even better in person.

It has a nice relaxed, inviting and beachy vibe.  Perfect blend of feminine and masculine- which I think is always tough to find bedding that isn't too 'girly' or starkly masculine.

I always saw this new wingback chair in a new stripe, just in.  Looks so sharp in person!

What about you? Are you into Pottery Barn? I think they have come a long long way since I worked there years ago (wish I still had that discount for that bedroom set or this chair!)

The Spindle Chair

I have been loving the spindle chair.  I love the uniqueness.   I love that it creates an interest in pattern in the woodwork, yet it is upholstered and comfortable to sit on. Plus, you could easily customize it with a fabric of your choice.  It is a great addition to a room begging for something bold and different, while still playing it safe.  It is very versatile and would look great in a classic and elegant space or a more bohemian space.

Happy 2014!

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you had a wonderful, happy and healthy holiday! I spent mine with my entire family in D.C. Unfortunately the bubonic plague hit (ie stomach flu) and everyone ended up getting sick.  No Fun! But I think people are on the mend and we can focus on the new year ahead.

I really love January because I feel extra motivated to keep up on my resolutions and just do better in all aspects of my life:  healthier eating habits, new workout regimen (aka lose the baby weight), learn a new skill, read and study more, focus on expanding my business, and declutter my home (and closet and life really).  After all, a near year is a new beginning.

During and after the holidays my home and life seems just so cluttered; now that it's all over, it really is so freeing to declutter and simplify.  So this week I am:
- putting away Christmas decor
- putting away unnecessary knick-knacks
- cleaning out the kids toys (I like to store some away and rotate out on rainy/snowy days)
- Cleaning out my coset and donating

Hold me to it! I will keep you posted on my progress and encourage you all to do the same.  Once everything is simplified visually, than you can be inspired to revamp your home (and of course I'll be posting some inspirational ideas for your new year, new space!)

What are some of your resolutions?
