Catch-All Trays

I love trays.  I love how many different types of trays there are- lucite, textural, glass, metal, antique, iron, etc...  I also love how they are decorative AND practical.  They are a great way to group your clutter, or a catch-all space.  It allows you to keep things visible and not behind a cupboard or drawer, yet it helps it from looking messy by keeping it all in one space (thus more usable surface area). It's great to group things on your desk, on a coffee table, bathroom vanity or bedside table.  They key is to get something with some sort of a lip or verticle edge. Here are a few trays I've rounded up, as well as a few inspiring images.  Enjoy!

Coachella Style

With Coachella going in full force right now, I thought it might be  fun to put together a little Coachella-inspired post.  Fashion is always a big draw for the music event....and this year it's all about the high-waisted shorts, crop tops, neon, and of course indie-inspired sun dresses.  What you may not realize is that Coachella takes place in Indio, CA which is neighbor to Palm Desert and Palm Springs.  This area has a style all its own.  Sure you may think about big palm leaves and bermuda shirts, but that is only a fraction of it.  It is known for its mid-century style and great art galleries.  I think it's the perfect draw and fit to the hipster crowd of Coachella.  Here are a few images of some great interiors in the area.  Enjoy!

Spring Fever

We have gotten a major warming trend here in New York...and I am loving it!  I want to do nothing else but be outside and play outside with my kids. We've been park hopping, city-going, playing with water guns and water balloons, sidewalk chalk, bird calling, scooter riding, popsicle eating, the list goes on (thus why my blog has suffered and my house chores have suffered too).

With Spring finally underway, it is making me appreciate all things green and colorful....I'm talking about gardens! I have never gardened before- this is the first year that we have been in a house and have an opportunity to try my hand at a green thumb.  If any of you have any low-maintenance flower ideas- probably annuals- something that will stay bloomed spring and summer....I would love the advice!

In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few beautiful gardens and homes with great curb appeal.  Enjoy!

Easter Weekend Respite

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend!  We went down to DC for some family time.  Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms were not in bloom, and the trees were all bare, but i'm still hopeful for Springtime and we still had a great time!  Another little hiccup was the night before leaving, my littlest slipped in the bathroom and had to get 8 stitches in his cheek.  Sad day for him, and sad day for mom.

In honor of visiting our nations capital, I wanted to share a few inspiration photos of the area. I just love the architecture.  So sit back, relax, take a break from unpacking and cleaning, and enjoy :)
